Chocolate fudge brownies

March 17, 2010

Oooey gooey fudge brownies. I recommend serving them warm with vanilla ice cream and raspberries…too delicious for words. My mom has been making these forever. I’m pretty sure she got the recipe from her high school reunion cookbook (I’ll have to do some fact checking tonight).

Ingredients:

1 cup of butter
1 cup of white sugar
1 cup of brown sugar (yep, that’s right – nothing low-cal about these brownies)
2/3 cup cocoa
3 eggs
1 cup of flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Preheat oven to 350. Melt butter in a large pot over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat. Add both white and brown sugar and cocoa. Mix with  a wooden spoon. In a separate bowl, beat three eggs. Add eggs to butter sugar mixture. Mix well with a whisk. Sift flour and baking powder over the mixture and stir in. Add vanilla and mix. Pour into a lightly greased 9 x 11 baking pan. Bake for 25 minutes. Let cool for 15 minutes. Enjoy!
