Apple Crisp

Don’t you love lazy Sundays? No plans, no reason to leave the house and nothing much to do? It’s chilly outside and I’m craving warm, comforting foods. For lunch I whipped up my favorite soup and then called my mom to ask for some specifics on her apple crisp recipe. This is so good served warm and with lots of vanilla ice cream.

5-6 large apples peeled and sliced into wedges about 1/4 inch thick (I used granny smith, but normally I would use macintosh)
3/4 cup sugar
2 tsp cinnamon

1 cup brown sugar
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup melted butter

Combine sugar and cinnamon. In a large mixing bowl toss apples in sugar/cinnamon mixture. Pour coated apples into a medium sized baking dish (mine was 10 x 8 inches and 2 and a 1/2 inches deep). Combine brown sugar, oats, flour and butter until crumbly. Spread evenly over apples. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes until bubbly and golden. Serves 6-8. Enjoy.

  1. I don’t know about laundry.. I don’t think it will make my Sunday! 🙂 but of course, baking would make my sunday and the rest of my day. Love the apple crsip. It looks very delicious Briana.

    Have a greak week ahead.
